Senior Marketing Manager - Grant Funded Programmes

Location: Hybrid working with regular collaboration across Knowsley, Warrington and other DCC EMS locations as required

Who are we?

At DCC Energy Management Services (EMS), we're helping organisations and communities transition towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. Through our portfolio of specialist businesses, we deliver innovative energy efficiency, renewable energy and decarbonisation solutions that support customers on their journey to net zero.

As part of DCC EMS, Next Energy is a specialist provider of domestic energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements, delivering funded retrofit programmes across the UK. Working with local authorities, housing associations, combined authorities and other strategic partners, we help households access funded measures that make homes warmer, more energy efficient and more affordable to run.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business operating at the forefront of the UK's energy transition and retrofit agenda.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to become the dedicated marketing lead for our Grant Funded business. Reporting to the Head of EMS Marketing, you'll partner closely with the Leadership Team to develop and deliver marketing strategies that drive business growth, support programme success and enhance customer engagement.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll play a key role in shaping marketing plans, leading integrated campaigns, managing agency partners and providing commercial marketing insight that supports business objectives.

You'll act as the trusted marketing advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring marketing activity delivers measurable value and remains aligned to both business priorities and the wider EMS marketing strategy.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with the Grant Funded Leadership Team, providing strategic marketing expertise, insight and challenge to support business growth.
  • Develop and deliver annual and quarterly marketing plans aligned to commercial objectives and programme priorities.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, customer engagement, participation and lead generation across funded programmes.
  • Use customer, market and performance insights to shape activity, optimise campaigns and improve outcomes.
  • Act as the primary marketing business partner, building strong relationships with operational, commercial and delivery stakeholders.
  • Manage agency and supplier relationships, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Support bid activity, programme mobilisation and customer engagement initiatives for new and existing contracts.
  • Line manage and develop a Marketing Executive while ensuring marketing activity remains focused on agreed priorities and delivers measurable value.

What we're looking for

Essential Experience

  • Significant marketing experience within a commercial and customer-focused environment.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and plans.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Strong track record of delivering integrated marketing campaigns from concept through to evaluation.
  • Experience managing agencies, suppliers and third-party partners.
  • Budget management experience with a focus on delivering measurable return on investment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use insight and performance data to drive decision making.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, public sector organisations or strategic delivery partners.
  • CIM qualification or equivalent professional marketing qualification.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of marketing planning, campaign management and customer engagement principles.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing channels and integrated marketing approaches.
  • Understanding of customer journey development, lead generation and retention strategies.
  • Experience using marketing performance metrics and analytics.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Knowledge of brand management and maintaining consistency across all communications.

What you'll bring

You'll be someone who:

  • Takes a commercially focused approach and understands how marketing contributes to business performance.
  • Builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Influences with confidence, credibility and professionalism.
  • Demonstrates accountability and ownership for delivery.
  • Places customer and stakeholder needs at the centre of decision making.
  • Uses insight and data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Embraces change and seeks opportunities to improve ways of working.
  • Acts with integrity, professionalism and respect at all times.

Why join us?

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing area of DCC EMS, helping to shape how funded energy efficiency and retrofit programmes are promoted and delivered across the UK.

You'll join a collaborative and supportive environment where marketing is recognised as a strategic contributor to business success, while having the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in supporting the transition to a lower-carbon future.
