Senior System Analyst (Insurance Software Support)
Location: Remote/Hybrid
About the Role: Our client, a leading technology and services provider in the insurance sector, is seeking a dedicated Senior System Analyst to join their dynamic support team. As a pivotal member of the team, you will support various insurance software solutions implemented across the London Market, General, and Health insurance sectors. The role demands proficiency in SQL Server to ensure effective issue resolution and development of tailored functionalities as required by clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for clients’ existing configurations and address day-to-day inquiries.
- Utilize analytical skills to debug and troubleshoot any configuration or systemic issues.
- Conduct triage and analysis of support requests while adhering to contracted Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Estimate and design solutions for insurance-related challenges.
- Gather and interpret client business requirements and document necessary fixes or changes.
- Develop solutions utilizing SQL Server.
- Conduct developer testing and peer reviews to ensure quality outputs.
- Deploy solutions into client systems, following specific release processes and audit requirements.
- Communicate proactively with clients throughout the development lifecycle to ensure excellent customer service.
- Facilitate demonstration of solutions to end users and assist in Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts.
- Work shifts or be part of an on-call rota for core support hours as needed.
- Independently support clients with business-as-usual (BAU) issues through the complete development lifecycle.
- Prepare and execute system test scripts and technical system documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams to achieve timely issue resolution.
- Proactively escalate issues to the line manager when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Maintain accurate weekly time reporting for invoicing purposes.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior team members.
- Support the Support Manager when required, particularly in release management and client meetings.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and understanding of database design best practices.
- Experience in a Business Analyst or second-line software support role.
- High-standard documentation skills.
- Proficiency in advising and influencing client perspectives on scope, time, costs, and strategies.
- Decision-making capabilities considering situational needs, priorities, and constraints.
- Self-motivated and capable of taking initiative.
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international client sites if needed.
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, and open to challenges.
- Proven ability to learn new software tools/products quickly.
- Active experience with SQL Server, including knowledge of stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, indexes, and table maintenance.
Desirable Skills:
- Strong presentation skills to convey information confidently to various stakeholders.
- Capable of conceptualizing and building complex system architectures with the XFI Software.
- Experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with metadata systems and development lifecycle best practices.
- Detailed knowledge of Windows environments.
- Additional programming experience.
- ITIL Qualification.
