Hoop Education is looking for dedicated, passionate individuals with a background in education and a genuine enthusiasm for working with secondary school-aged children to join our team as Cover Supervisors.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Curricular Support: Develop an understanding of the curriculum in line with the schools requirements and ensure it is followed during the absence of the regular teacher.

  • Behaviour Management: Implement the school's behaviour management policy, ensuring students remain focused and respectful in the classroom. Report any issues to the class teacher or senior leadership team.

  • Administer Assessments: Supervise and administer class assessments as requested by the teacher.

  • Support Teaching Assistants: Supervise and provide support for Teaching Assistants, ensuring effective teamwork in the classroom.

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all school policies, including behaviour management, health and safety, and equal opportunities.

  • Supervision During Teacher Absence: Carry out pre-prepared exercises during the short-term absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students stay engaged and productive.

  • Classroom Leadership: While you will not be responsible for planning lessons, you will be expected to lead the class and assist students in completing their work.

  • Collection of Work: Collect completed work from students and pass it to the classroom teacher for review.


Requirements:



  • A passion for education and working with young children.

  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment.

  • An enhanced DBS check (assistance available if needed).

  • The ability to speak Welsh is preferred but not essential.

  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to engage students effectively.
