Quality and Compliance Manager, Knowsley



I am recruiting a Quality & Compliance Manager for my client in Knowsley



The ideal candidate will lead the continuous improvement of product quality and ensure business-wide compliance across all areas. This key role will involve implementing and managing processes, certifications, and supplier compliance while driving quality improvement initiatives across the business



Overview of the role:



Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all departments



Lead quality and continuous improvement projects, working with teams across the business



Ensure all products meet clearly defined quality standards, supporting teams from Sales to Distribution



Collaborate with Purchasing to improve raw material quality and create Material Purchasing Specifications (MPSs)



Manage non-conformance processes and ensure corrective actions are effective



Work with Production teams to ensure SOPs are adhered to through audits and education sessions



Analyse product returns and customer service issues, coordinating the internal process to resolve recurring issues



Introduce KPIs and produce regular reports on key quality metrics, such as internal defects, customer returns, and right-first-time (RFT)



Become the main point of contact for product quality-related issues



Support Sales and Customer Service with escalated customer complaints and quality-related concerns



Compliance Management



Lead the implementation and maintenance of all required certifications (ISO, FSC, FISP, etc.)



Develop and manage procedures to ensure full compliance with internal and external regulations



Oversee internal audits and liaise with auditors, ensuring all compliance documentation is up to date



Manage product testing schedules and identify gaps in compliance



Work closely with Purchasing to ensure supplier compliance with all necessary standards



Monitor and ensure compliance with UK GDPR and other data protection laws



Provide training and guidance on data protection and compliance responsibilities across the business



Experience & Knowledge Required



Proven experience in a Senior Quality and Compliance role



Strong working knowledge of ISO systems and certifications



A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field is preferred



Formal training in quality management is advantageous



High level of IT literacy



Experience managing teams effectively

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
