Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to support the day-to-day finance function and contribute to the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment.


The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of transactional finance, month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting requirements, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all aspects of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers.
  • Manage credit control activities and monitor outstanding customer balances.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain petty cash records.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare depreciation schedules.

Reporting & Reconciliations

  • Reconcile stock ledger balances to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end journals.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for management reporting.
  • Support the preparation of monthly cashflow reports and annual budgets.

Audit & Business Support

  • Provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with operational departments to resolve financial queries and improve processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the business.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Skills & Experience
Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a finance or accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and reconciliations.
  • Good knowledge of VAT and statutory reporting requirements.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 4 Qualified
  • Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification
