Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Liverpool to recruit a Humanities Teacher to start as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate humanities graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced Humanities Teacher who is keen to inspire students, develop critical thinking skills, and support academic achievement across KS3 and KS4.

Whether you are beginning your teaching journey or bringing established classroom experience across History, Geography, Religious Studies, Citizenship, or related Humanities subjects, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact within a supportive school environment.
The Role as a Humanities Teacher:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will work with students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of people, places, beliefs, and societies. You will support students preparing for GCSE-level Humanities qualifications, depending on your subject specialism.
Key Responsibilities as a Humanities Teacher:
• Deliver engaging Humanities lessons across your specialist subject(s) at KS3 and KS4
• Support students in developing critical thinking, analytical, and evaluative skills
• Prepare pupils for GCSE assessments, examinations, and coursework
• Adapt lessons and resources to meet a range of learning needs
• Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and engagement in learning
• Track student progress and provide effective feedback in line with school policies
• Build positive relationships to motivate and inspire learners
• Promote enthusiasm for history, geography, religion, culture, and society
The Ideal Candidate as a Humanities Teacher:
• A degree in History, Geography, Religious Studies, Politics, or a related Humanities subject
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Humanities education
• Experience teaching or supporting secondary students is desirable
• Open to both recent graduates and experienced teachers
• Confident, adaptable, and engaging communication style
• Passion for education and supporting young people to succeed
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
