The Role
We're looking for an Audit Manager to lead and oversee audit assignments from planning through to completion.
You'll work closely with Directors and senior colleagues, while taking ownership of client relationships, budgets, team performance and the day-to-day delivery of audits.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys leading people, building client relationships and taking responsibility for delivering high-quality work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Build strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and handling queries throughout engagements
- Lead and develop junior team members, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback
- Manage budgets and project progress, identifying and addressing any variances
- Monitor billing and resource usage, ensuring engagements remain commercially efficient
- Maintain audit quality and compliance, ensuring work meets relevant accounting and auditing standards
- Support a collaborative team culture, helping resolve day-to-day issues and developing those around you
- Work closely with Directors, ensuring smooth delivery and alignment with wider department objectives
- Take ownership of day-to-day audit operations and ad hoc projects where required
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent
- Proven experience in audit and accounts, ideally within practice
- Strong experience managing audit assignments and client relationships
- Confidence leading and developing junior team members
- Good understanding of audit risk, controls and quality standards
- Strong knowledge of relevant accounting and auditing standards, including FRS and IFRS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- A commercial approach to budgets, resources and billing
Experience with CCH and Inflo is beneficial but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
