Are you looking to take the next step in your finance career and gain broader accounting experience within a successful manufacturing environment?
We’re recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join an established finance team, offering a great opportunity for someone with a grounding in transactional finance who now wants to develop their month-end and management accounting experience.
You’ll work closely with the Site Finance Manager, taking responsibility for day-to-day financial processing while gradually becoming more involved in month-end reporting and accounting activities. You will be:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Processing and reconciling cash and bank transactions
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with supplier payments and resolving invoice queries
- Supporting the Site Finance Manager during month end
- Preparing and posting journals
- Assisting with accruals and prepayments
- Supporting the preparation of monthly financial information
- Investigating discrepancies and helping ensure financial information is accurate
- Working with colleagues across the site to resolve finance queries
- Supporting ongoing improvements to finance processes and controls
For this Assistant Accountant role, you will ideally be someone who already has some hands-on finance experience and is keen to broaden their skillset.
- AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, or in the early stages of CIMA/ACCA
- Experienced within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or similar role
- Comfortable working across transactional finance, including AP, AR and bank reconciliations
- Keen to develop your knowledge of month-end accounting
- Confident using Excel and working with financial data
- Proactive, organised and willing to learn
- Comfortable working in a busy, deadline-driven environment
- Experience using a larger ERP system (SAP, Dynamics 365 etc) would be advantageous
- Manufacturing experience is useful but not essential
