Spotlightjobs is working with a claims firm, and as they continue to expand, my client is looking to recruit a Recoveries Handler to join their team and play a critical role in securing settlements for their credit hire invoices.
Part-time hours available plus Full time
Role Overview
As a Recoveries Handler, you will be responsible for recovering credit hire invoices under commercial hire agreements and the GTA (General Terms of Agreement). You will work closely with insurers, negotiate settlements, manage aged debt, and escalate cases through the litigation process when necessary. Given the high-value nature of their clients' vehicles, this role requires a self-starter with a resilient and determined mindset, as well as strong knowledge of credit hire recovery and the GTA.
Basic monthly salary plus monthly bonus up to £750 per month
Key Responsibilities
- Recover high-value credit hire invoices from insurers and at-fault parties in line with commercial hire agreements and the GTA.
- Prepare and submit invoices to insurers, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate settlements on high-performance vehicle claims to achieve optimal recovery outcomes.
- Proactively chase aged debt, ensuring timely payments and reducing outstanding balances.
- Escalate cases to litigation where necessary, working with solicitors and legal teams to pursue recovery.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth processing and resolution of claims.
- Monitor and report on debt recovery progress, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in credit hire recovery within a legal or insurance setting.
- Strong knowledge of the GTA and credit hire litigation processes.
- Proven ability to negotiate settlements on high-value claims and recover outstanding debts efficiently.
- Exceptional resilience, determination, and self-motivation in high-pressure environments.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with insurers and legal teams.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
