About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven Accounts Assistant to join a well-established accountancy practice based in Liverpool. Supporting a varied portfolio of SME clients, you will gain hands-on experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping and client support while studying towards a professional qualification.
This role is ideal for someone seeking long-term career development within practice, offering fully paid study support, salary increases linked to exam success, and a clear progression pathway.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
- Completing bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
- Supporting senior team members with client accounts assignments
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
- Assisting with general practice administration where required
About You
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment is essential
- AAT qualified, studying AAT, or looking to begin professional studies
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Keen to develop a long-term career within accountancy practice
- Able to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
