The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join the Works Department at HMP Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a unique and secure environment, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of prison facilities while ensuring a safe and operational estate.Working as part of a dedicated facilities team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance, repairs, testing, and installation works across the prison estate.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.
• Complete electrical installation work in accordance with current regulations.
• Undertake inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed.
• Support the wider maintenance team as required.
• Participate in the weekend rota (1 in 3 weekends).

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2360, 2330 or equivalent qualification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
• Experience in planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
