GXO is currently looking for a Planning Specialist to join our Castore operation in Knowsley. This is a key role within the operation, responsible for coordinating transport bookings, managing carrier relationships, and supporting the successful flow of stock through the site. Working closely with operational teams, customers, and third-party providers, you'll help ensure service levels are achieved while maintaining accurate planning and reporting processes.
This is a full time, permanent position, where you’ll be working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00. However flexibility is essential, this is logistics after all!

You’ll be paid a salary of up to £29,000 per annum. What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Operate within a face-paced working environment where task requirement can change rapidly
- Reporting directly into the shift management team to confirm transport booking and capacity capability
- Liaison between the warehouse and customer operations management teams fostering collaborative working
- Where possible, working in tandem with the GXO carrier management team to build success reporting against key transport metrics
- Managing priority shipments alongside the operational management team to ensure volume throughput aligns with site SLA requirements
- Working with third party courier businesses to ensure that adequate arrangements are made in good time to achieve customer promise
- Working with the site operational management team to accurately plan resources and keep reporting documents up to date
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven track record within a logistics environment, or similar
- Ability to work within tight timescales, effectively manage workload, and work confidently with multiple forms of data
- Strong literacy of computer systems and the Microsoft package
- Exemplary communication skills, and an ability to confidently converse across all levels of the business as required
- An organised and proactive individual able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst also able to report confidently to key stakeholders
