HR Manager - Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a multi-school Trust in Merseyside on a temporary basis, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who is looking for a varied and responsible role supporting staff across multiple school sites. Previous experience working within education is not essential; candidates with a strong HR background from other sectors are encouraged to apply.
The successful HR Manager will work closely with senior leaders and the Trust's HR team, providing professional HR advice and guidance across a range of employee-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
As HR Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing recruitment, selection and induction processes across the Trust.
- Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and staff.
- Managing employee relations and case management, including complex and sensitive cases.
- Supporting and advising on absence and sickness management.
- Providing guidance on employment policies, procedures and employment law.
- Supporting performance management and staff development.
- Managing and maintaining accurate HR records and documentation.
- Working closely with senior leaders and school management teams.
- Liaising with external HR providers and professional services where required.
- Supporting staff wellbeing and engagement.
- Ensuring HR processes are managed professionally, confidentially and in line with relevant legislation.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- At least 10 years' experience working within HR.
- Strong experience in employee relations and case management.
- Excellent knowledge of HR policies, procedures and employment law.
- Experience managing recruitment processes.
- Strong experience dealing with sickness and absence management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and manage sensitive information confidentially.
- A professional, approachable and adaptable manner.
- A full driving licence and access to a car, as the role will involve travelling between different schools within the Trust.
A school/education background is not essential for this position. The Trust is looking for an experienced HR professional who can bring strong HR knowledge, sound judgement and excellent employee relations skills to the role.
Working Hours
The role is 37 hours per week, with some flexibility around the school day for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be required to travel between schools within the Trust, so access to your own vehicle is essential.
