We are looking for a Lead IQA / IQA Team Leader to manage and develop a team of tutors delivering Health & Social Care qualifications at Levels 2–5. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality assurance professional who can improve teaching and assessment practice, support staff development and drive learner achievement.

About the Organisation

Our client is an established training provider delivering vocational qualifications and professional development within the Health & Social Care sector.

The organisation is committed to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance while supporting tutors and learners to achieve successful outcomes.

About the Role

As Lead IQA, you will oversee internal quality assurance activity, manage a team of tutors and ensure training and assessment meet awarding body requirements and relevant quality standards.

You will provide guidance, conduct observations, lead standardisation meetings and use performance information to support continuous improvement across the provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of tutors delivering Health & Social Care qualifications at Levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

  • Oversee internal quality assurance processes, ensuring assessment decisions are consistent, fair and compliant with requirements.

  • Conduct observations of teaching, learning and assessment (OTLAs) and provide constructive feedback.

  • Hold monthly one-to-one meetings with tutors to review performance, development needs and learner outcomes.

  • Organise standardisation meetings to promote consistent assessment practice across the team.

  • Monitor teaching quality, learner progress and achievement, identifying areas for improvement.

  • Apply knowledge of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF) to support quality improvement and inspection readiness.

  • Ensure accurate quality assurance records, assessment documentation and reports are maintained.

  • Support tutors with professional development, good practice and effective delivery of vocational qualifications.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced IQA or quality assurance professional with a strong understanding of Health & Social Care qualifications, assessment practice and tutor management. You will be confident leading a team, improving delivery standards and supporting positive learner outcomes.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recognised assessor or tutor qualification, such as A1 or TAQA, alongside a teaching qualification.

  • A recognised Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) or Internal Verifier (IV) qualification.

  • A Level 4 or Level 5 management qualification in Health & Social Care.

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths, or equivalent.

  • Previous experience managing or leading a team of tutors.

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Social Care qualifications and relevant standards at Levels 2–5.

  • Understanding of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework and quality assurance requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organisation and performance management skills.

Previous experience in internal quality assurance is highly desirable, particularly experience conducting observations, leading standardisation and supporting tutors to improve performance.

Why Apply?

  • Competitive Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum.

  • Permanent Opportunity: Build your career in a leadership role within vocational education and training.

  • Team Leadership: Take ownership of tutor development and quality assurance standards.

  • Professional Impact: Improve teaching, assessment and learner achievement across Health & Social Care provision.

  • Employee Benefits: Company pension, additional annual leave, sick pay and holiday pay.

  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling, work-from-home opportunities and all bank holidays off.
