Head of Process Maintenance - #1698100

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Process Maintenance to join our engineering department at the largest vaccine site in the UK, based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities across our manufacturing facilities and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves managing a dedicated team of maintenance professionals and reporting directly to the Head of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the activities of the Engineering Maintenance Departments to deliver reliable, high-quality services to the site.
- Provide maintenance and engineering services within budget constraints, adhering to the standards of the MHRA, FDA, HSE, ISO, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Ensure the safe and proper maintenance of manufacturing plants to guarantee reliable operation.
- Oversee the operation of a maintenance team responsible for repairs and planned maintenance programs.
- Develop routine preventative maintenance strategies and foster a 'no downtime' culture.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and reliability enhancements within the Engineering Maintenance department.
- Responsible for overseeing site safe systems of work programme
- Drive KPI compliance for safety and quality within the maintenance team
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical or instrumentation) recognised from an accredited engineering institute
- Eligibility for professional membership of the relevant Institute of Engineers
- At least ten years of experience in maintenance or plant management, including managing personnel working on automated or semi-automated process plants.
- Sound knowledge of management and accounting principles as applied to large engineering operations.
- Hands-on Engineering/Maintenance experience, including knowledge of Quality Assurance and an understanding of ISO standards.
- Excellent management skills, including preparing and controlling budgets.
- Proven problem solving capability
- Experience of working within a highly regulated industry
