Pertemps is recruiting HIAB HGV Relief Drivers for our leading client in Kings Lynn. Join a dynamic team where youll operate HIAB and lorry loader cranes, support tanker operations, and ensure seamless deliveries across the region.

Your Responsibilities

  • Operate HIAB and lorry loader cranes (3182 tonnes) to safely load, unload, and deliver modular structures, temporary units, and other goods to various sites.

  • Support tanker operations, servicing customer welfare needs with efficiency and care.

  • Step in as a relief driver to cover absences, holidays, or training, ensuring uninterrupted fleet operations.

  • Follow planned routes and movement orders, delivering on time and in full (OTIF) while reporting any issues promptly.

  • Conduct thorough vehicle and equipment safety checks, reporting incidents, near misses, or defects to maintain compliance.

  • Adhere to EU driving hours, Working Time Regulations, and abnormal load requirements, targeting zero infringements.

  • Champion a customer-focused approach, delivering exceptional service and always maintaining professionalism.


What We Need from You


  • Licence: Valid Category C+E (Class 1) HGV licence with DCPC. Class 2 licence holders with 2+ years of experience also considered.


  • Experience: At least 1 year of HGV driving, including operating HIAB and lorry loader cranes (hook experience essential). Previous tanker or wagon-and-drag combination experience is a plus.


  • Certifications: Valid HIAB certification, Digital Tachograph card, and CPC qualification. CPCS or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.


  • Driving Record: Maximum 3 points on your licence (no DR10, CD10, or IN10 endorsements).


  • Age: 21+ years old.


  • Flexibility: Willingness to stay away overnight or work weekends occasionally, adapting to business needs with short notice.
