We're working with a growing independent building consultancy based in Liverpool, supporting an established client base of investors, developers and major property owners across the UK.

Due to a strong pipeline of work and continued growth, they're looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor who can join the team and take ownership of projects from an early stage.

THE CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR ROLE

This is a hands-on Building Surveyor position within a small and established commercial consultancy.

You'll be joining a team with a strong pipeline of existing work, so there's no expectation for you to arrive with a client following or immediately start generating fees. The priority is finding someone who can take responsibility for their own workload and deliver work to a high standard.

A significant proportion of the work centres around dilapidations, acting predominantly for landlords as well as tenants, alongside contract administration, project management and refurbishment schemes.

You'll also have exposure to PPM surveys, measured surveys, drawings and other areas of commercial building surveying.

The consultancy works nationally, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling to client sites throughout the UK. This isn't a role where you'll necessarily spend several days every week on the road, but projects can be located anywhere from Scotland to the South of England and flexibility around travel is important.

The team is predominantly office-based when not attending sites, with flexibility available where appropriate. If you've been out on site, for example, there's no expectation to travel back into the office unnecessarily.

CHARTERED BUILDING SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL SKILLS

* MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor, ideally with 1-3 years' PQE
* Commercial building surveying experience
* Experience delivering dilapidations work
* Contract administration and/or refurbishment project experience
* Comfortable managing your own workload and projects
* Able to produce reports and documentation independently
* Willingness to travel nationally when projects require it
* Strong client-facing and communication skills

Candidates who have recently completed their APC assessment and are close to achieving chartered status may also be considered where their commercial experience is strong.

Additional experience in areas such as party wall or rights to light would also be welcomed and could provide an opportunity to introduce new services into the business.
