Health and Safety Advisor - #2151808

RML Roofing Contractor is part of a family-run group of construction businesses alongside Scaffold Management and 4 Construction Management. Between us we self-deliver commercial and industrial roofing, planned and reactive maintenance, scaffolding and construction refurbishment for national clients.

We're looking for a Health and Safety Advisor who wants to be on site, not behind a desk.

You'll be out every day with our maintenance gangs wherever they're working that week, and on our project sites checking site set-up, access, edge protection and that the job is being done the way the RAMS says it will be. You'll stop unsafe work, sort it there and then with the supervisor, and deliver the toolbox talks and inductions face to face.

The other half of the job is the paperwork behind it. Inspections written up the same day, actions chased until they're closed, construction phase plans and CDM documentation in place on the project works, training matrix current, and equipment certificates in date. We work for major national clients who audit us, so the evidence has to be there.

What you'll need:

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or working towards it with IOSH Managing Safely held.
• Construction site experience, particularly work at height.
• A working understanding of CDM 2015.
• To be happy on the road and on sites every day, covering the whole country.
• To be practical and credible with operatives – able to stop a job, explain why, and still have the gang onside.
• Full UK driving licence.

Roofing, cladding or scaffolding background is a big advantage, as is scaffold inspection competence.

You'll report to our Health and Safety Director, who owns the policy and the strategy. Vehicle provided, and we'll fund the next qualification for the right person.
