Client Details

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the finance function whilst partnering closely with operational, commercial and purchasing teams across the business. This is a highly visible role offering the chance to contribute to strategic decision-making, improve processes and help drive operational efficiency across the organisation.

Description

The successful Finance Manager will enjoy a broad remit spanning financial management, commercial analysis, pricing, reporting and business improvement projects.

• Ownership of cash flow management and day-to-day finance operations
• Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Management of VAT returns and liaison with external accountants
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Monitoring supplier pricing and protecting product margin performance
• Maintaining customer pricing structures across business systems
• Producing financial and performance reports for suppliers and buying groups
• Partnering with operational and purchasing teams to identify efficiencies
• Supporting major systems and warehouse improvement projects
• Driving continuous improvement across processes, reporting and controls
• Assisting leadership in making informed commercial decisions

Profile

We're keen to speak with qualified or qualified-by-experience finance professionals who enjoy operating in a hands-on environment and want to be part of a growing business.

The successful Finance Manager will have:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role
• Strong management accounting and reporting experience
• Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
• Experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP Business One
• Commercial awareness and the ability to influence decision-making
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
• SQL experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential
